If you want to reach out to connect, the best way to do that is by email. It always brightens my day when somebody sends an email out of the blue to say hi and introduce themself, among all the other updates I get in my inbox.

The one catch: because any address works, the bots have a real easy time hurling spam at me. So here's my filter — a tiny thing that only a human who actually read this far, and actually wants to connect with another human, would bother with.
